About 4th Grade |
I am excited to be your child's teacher this year! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from TCU with a bachelor's degree in history. I earned my master's degree in Educational Foundations from TCU as well.
I have taught 2nd grade for six years and taught 3rd for two years, but this will be my first year in 4th grade. Before entering the classroom, I spent ten years in education and exhibit design at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History and at the Fort Worth Zoo. My husband and I live here in Venus with our two kids. We are active in our church in Burleson, and I enjoy photography, running, reading, gardening, and cooking in my free time. |
Children have a big transition into fourth grade! You will see your child grow immensely this year, both socially and academically.
Fourth grade students take three STAAR tests, one in reading, one in writing, and one in math. While many students and parents worry about these tests, students will be prepared by the time the tests roll around in May. Help your child not to worry. I find that placing additional pressure on the students does not equal increased test scores. Fourth grade will be team-taught this year, which means that your student will have two teacher for all the core subjects. I will be your child's teacher for reading and writing, and Ms. Orr will be your child's math, science, and social studies teacher. |
